Fitness First Update

Monday, October 16th.

So this was an interesting past 5 days.  After giving up sugar, alcohol, and red meat on Wednesday, October 8 and let me tell you the challenges and the easy parts of my experience so far:

Easy:
- easy to say NO if you are paying for things (wine, dessert, red meat)  Your bill is SO much CHEAPER!
- easy to see HOW MUCH SUGAR IS IN EVERYTHING (just go to the grocery store . . . its amazing!)
- easier to do if you go to bed early to not give into cravings

Challenges:
- not quickly grabbing sugar things that are in your house already
- cleaning up after making healthy items (juice, sliced fruit, etc) . . . just make time for it

BIGGEST CHALLENGE:
I got a virus this week and now have lost my voice.  I wonder if it a result of detox from sugar etc.  I know sugar negatively feeds a cold so "comfort food" is not good for you .  .  . anyone have thoughts on this?

Here is something I thought was interesting:

Pre 8 week challenge

Here we go!

Until the 15th, I'm limiting my processed sugar, carbs, and alcohol (gasp) intake.  I"m not feeling to great today so I want to make sure I get all my vitamins and nutrients.

Breakfast: Juice (fresh apple, orange, kale, spinach, and carrot)

Lunch: Meal replacement shake

Dinner: Dinner will be a clear broth from the noodle place (low sodium)

ALL VEGETARIAN

NO alcohol and NO dessert.

Walking the dogs later to get some cardio.

Once the 15th comes, there is NO going back! : )

What are you doing to make your life healthier today?

HINT:  Make one change, just one.  Instead of that Diet Coke, drink water.  That's all you need to do.

In health,
