My self challenge

Hello everyone,

I am getting ready to do an 8 week challenge to lose weight and get back into maximized shape.  I'm gong to use this blog to track my daily progress. I"m going to use between now and the 15th to detox with no sugar, alcohol, or carbs.

From the 15th for 8 weeks, I'll be using a program, working out, etc. and posting on this blog.

THIS WISE GUY IS GETTING FIT and you are ALL a part of it.

I'll take a self pic on the 15th but won't share until its over.  It is NOT pretty! : )

If anyone would like to join me, just let me know.  I would love it if you challenged yourself as well.

get healthy naturally


Your health creates the history of your life!

Wise Guy Thought for the day:

Get rid of the "DIET" and "REDUCED FAT" - those really mean . . CHEMICALS THAT YOUR BODY CAN'T DIGEST!!!

Wise Guy Question for the day:

What percentage of the food you eat is actually natural food?  How much is packaged or processed?  
 

Wise Guy Action for the day:  

If the natural is lower than the processed - FLIP IT!  Instead of 40/60, make it 60/40 today and keep it moving in the right direction.  

What you put in NOW will make a difference to what you get out in the future!

Get organized!


I have a LOT going on right now in my life:


- Completing the last 1/2 of my first semester as a Doctoral Student
- Just competed in two dance competitions in one weekend with multiple students
- Closing early on a house (my first one!) 
- Managing new interns at the studio
 and the list goes on . .  . 


I have to have lists.  I have an app on my phone to help me with this!  It even sends reminders.

DON"T TRY TO KEEP IT ALL IN YOUR HEAD!

You have to be organized - even obsessive over the organization when times get stressful.  Some say its a form of procrastination but I believe it helps you to do the following:

- stay on top of things
- put your "stressed" feelings somewhere else so you can focus on what is important

How do you stay organized?  Do you journal?  Do you make lists? 

Wise Guy Action for the day:  

Start today!  Make lists . . check them twice . . . Santa really had something going!

Change - no nickels and dimes here!


Change is not just something that you keep in your pocket!

Changes in our lives happen every second of the day.  We get up off the couch, we change our lives.  We make a decision to eat salad instead of a burger, we change our lives.  Change happens all the time and yet its one of the things that frighten us the most - some times.

Change can be a difficult thing especially when what you have to change in your life will affect someone people you care about.  Sometimes it feels like the stress of making the change is overwhelming but most times the other parties involved are just waiting for you to make the change so they don't have to. 

Wise Guy Thought for the day: 
If you are feeling that a change has to be made in your life, listen to that feeling.  Your instinct is strong BUT you have to make sure that you have the backing behind your feelings through actions and past examples.  This will allow you to take the GUILT, ANGER, and SADNESS out of your decision to make a change.  Without it, you will always be second guessing if you did the right thing.  Make sure you did the right thing.

WHO KNOWS:  Your decision to change might be the BEST thing for the others involved!  It might give them the push they need to move on to do bigger and better things.  You might be doing your part to "pay it forward" or give back and you don't even know it.  

Everything happens for a reason - if you learn from it then the reason was a good one!

Wise Guy Question for the day: 
What ares in life are you questioning?  What is bringing you stress?  What doesn't make you smile?  

Wise Guy Action for the day: 
Look at the things that are negative in your life and see if you can CHANGE THEM!  NOTE:  It is not responsible to just get rid of everything that annoys you but you can change the way you look at thing or the level of involvement you have with the negative portion of your life.  

Even if its a small step in a positive direction - you are going the right way!
