Glass half full!

Wise Guy Thought for the day:

Look how much I have had to drink . . .and look how much I have left to drink!

Wise Guy Question for the day:

Think of your own glass - how do you view it?  What is it filled with and how  how colorful is the glass?

Wise Guy Action for the day:

Draw a picture of "your glass" in your head. If you don't like how it looks - CHANGE IT!

ps.

A little wine never hurt the glass!

Sometimes you just have to LET IT GO!

BEYONCE'S WRITING ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON

This past Monday marked the three year anniversary of the passing ofMichael Jackson, and while a number of stars and fans shared their memories of MJ, one celeb in particular got more intimate!
When I was just starting out, my first producer used to make me listen to Michael Jackson’s live performance of “Who’s Loving You.” He would have me watch that for hours back to back to back.
What he wanted me to learn was his soul. You could hear his soul. And he was this little kid who hadn’t experienced love but he was a vessel. For whatever reason he could evoke more emotion than an adult. It was so raw and so pure. It was these little things that he did that were just swag. It’s something that’s God given.
Michael taught me that sometimes you have to forget technique, forget what you have on. If you feel silly, you have to go from the gut just let it go.
Michael Jackson changed me, and helped me to become the artist I am - thank you Michael.
Love always,
B

Wise Guy Thought for the day:
Life is not about surviving, its about thriving and making each moment as special as you can!

Wise Guy Question for the day:

When was the last time you took your talent and did whatever it was "from the gut"?

Wise Guy Action for the day:

Next time you are doing your hobby or something you love - STOP.  Take a DEEP BREATH and REMEMBER WHY YOU LOVE DOING IT .  . . then REACH DEEP DOWN IN YOUR SOUL . . . and do whatever it is LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER DONE IT BEFORE!!

ps.  Then message me and tell me how it was!

LET ME POST IT ONE MORE TIME:
Michael taught me that sometimes you have to forget technique, forget what you have on. If you feel silly, you have to go from the gut just let it go. - Beyonce

Passion leads to . . . .

What are you passionate about?

During the competition this weekend - one of my students, set off by some mistakes that she had made in her tango, got very emotional on the dance floor.  She whispered to me " I should quit shouldn't I." She walked off the floor and found a private place in the corner of the room, where the tears began to flow.  At that moment, I knew she was going through a HUGE breakthrough personally.  "What is wrong with me" she questioned "dancing has never brought out this emotion in me."

"Absolutely nothing," I explained.  "There is no reason for you to be upset - on the contrary you should be smiling from ear to ear, congratulations, you just discovered that you truly care about your dancing.  It means more than you thought to you than you thought!  It's your passion!"

Wise Guy Thought for the day:

We are all passionate about something.  Something that we give our heart and soul to.  Some are through life's lessons in responsibility but some we choose.  It's the ones we choose that best represent our deepest desires and dreams.

Wise Guy Question for the day:

What are you passionate about?  What means the world to you?  Your children, you partner, your work?  All of these are worthy of your undivided attention but what about YOU. Where are YOUR passions? Are you doing something with them or they laying dormant?

Wise Guy Action for the day:

Draw a picture of your true passion.  Use crayons, markers, or pen and pencil.  Be childlike about it.  Post it on your refrigerator or even give it to someone to share with - see if you can start a conversation about your dreams.   .  . then take the first step to accomplishing them!

Don't Settle!

Wise Guy Thought for the day:
We often settle in life when we could have SO much.  So much love, so much laughter, so much happiness.  We hold each other to our own sense of morality that we forget that we are only responsible for our own dreams and development - we are only hear to help others grow, not stop them from seeing their true potential.

Wise Guy Question for the day:
Out of the list above, what are things you could work on today?  What could you do to have MORE?

Wise Guy Action for the day:
Use the list above and put them in order of importance to you and your life - how to make the biggest changes in yourself.  Try to make the first thing happen today, if you can get through the complete list . .  . imaging how your entire outlook would be different!

ps.  Everyone deserves to develop!

The POWER of MUSIC!

Happy Saturday!

Some of you might not now know this but I am a a professional ballroom competitor and instructor. Through music I believe that we can experience live in ways we would never be able to only though our own visions and dreams.  When you dance, you become the dance and give your own visual interpretation of the song playing.  The audience gets a peek into your soul as you express yourself as only you can.  Music has the power to motivate, inspire, and heal!

Let me say the last one again - heal!

Below are two instances where music has helped the wellness of the one listening . . . please take a moment and watch these clips.  Get some tissues:

The older we get, we sometimes forget things.  It's funny that you can still remember your favorite television song or jingle but you probably can't remember what you had for dinner last night.  The power of music brings us back to happier times:

Simply amazing!

How many times have you been listening to your favorite artist on the radio or through your collection and it seems as if they are speaking directly to you - only to you!  They feel your pain and sometimes they help you to get moving in a new direction.

If you personally know me, you know my most favorite performer is the one and only Dolly Parton! Mrs. Parton is such an amazing song writer that there is something for everyone.  Below are some of my favorites that have gotten me through times of sadness and anger - both were able to turn my thoughts around and put me back on the path to positivity!

Better Get to Livin - A great song about getting over yourself, pulling your big kid pants on , and getting on with life!

Change it - once again a song about the ability that you have to change your own life.  If you don't like it - CHANGE IT!

The wise guy THOUGHT for the day:
Today you have the power to change your life!  For better or for worse, you have the tools to make your life shape in the direction you want to. Music is one of those tools - use it often!

The wise guy QUESTION for the day:
What song's motivate you?  What songs make you feel certain emotions? What is your JAM?

The wise guy ACTION for the day:
Make yourself  an iTunes playlist or "mix tape" that not only lists your favorite songs but what emotions they bring out in you.  Next time you need some musical motivation - you have it right at your fingertips!

Have a GREAT weekend - I'll talk to you tomorrow.

The Wise Guy!
